THE FERTILE SWIPE

The Fertile Swipe, 2013-16 is an interactive video performance lecture on the topic of food created for specifically for the 4-sided, seamless video cube dining experience of Monkey Town. Performed over 100 times at EYEBEAM—Chelsea, Manhattan’s new media cultural center—during the summer of 2013, it was performed for an additional four weeks when the traveling version of Monkey Town made its way to Denver, Colorado in 2014, and then Austin, TX in 2015/16.

The above is a segment of the performance in which the audience watches the screens alone, as most of it is meant to be seen alongside the performer. The character, “The Mother,” who has broken through Will’s Power Point presentation, explains where she came from.
